Here is a look at a new Ricoh compact camera designed for heavy outdoor use. It even conforms to US Department of Defense standards. (what ever those are). It has a 28-140mm lens and 10 mega-pixels. It looks like fun!

Check it out:

Now you are going to be able to sit at Starbucks (T-mobile sites) and photograph your latte with a 28mm to 280mm lens, shoot a HD movie, and Wi-Fi the pictures directly to Google. All with the Panasonic TZ50 9.1 megapixel camera. Amazing....

Here are some photos I recently shot in downtown Los Angeles using a Nikon D2X. I've applied the Photoshop plugin "Alien Skin Exposure 2" to the photos. This provides a good simulation to many film types and processing for those that remember how film worked! I especially like the Kodachrome effects.

You can download a 30 day free trial version before investing the $249. http://www.alienskin.com/

Enlarge the photos to get the full effect.
